Cep means root vine in French. The vine etching underneath the name represents the focus on the vineyard for producing wines of purity and true terroir expression. The Cep Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir captures the essence of Sonoma Coast fruit. The nose is resplendent with a cherry core encased in toasted brown spices, orange peel and lead. Aromas of mushrooms and forest floor serve as a bass note to higher tone notes of sarsaparilla and wild strawberry that come to the fore as the wine carries across the palate. The sensation is juicy yet the wine is not highly extracted or cloying. The length is persistent and the finish clean with well delineated acidity.

| Cep is the second label for **** Vineyards. It is the result of culling barrels for the blending of our **** wines. We prepare all of our blends blind without knowledge of how many cases each blend would produce to keep us honest and focused only on quality. These are the barrels that did not make it into **** Estate Pinot noirs. We grow all the fruit at our vineyard and vinify these lots exactly as we do for **** wine.
Although we think this is excellent wine – especially for the price – we do not wish for it to be publicized in writing that **** makes this wine as we do not make it purposefully; it is the offspring. We are also attempting to keep the brands separate in consumers’ minds. We appreciate your cooperation with this aim-
